When will updated versions of Papyrus be released?
Papyrus is continually undergoing new development. We react both to
user feedback (when adding new features), as well as to changes in the operating
systems, so that Papyrus consistently remains a top-quality program.
When we have a new feature ready, or correct a bug, there's no reason
not to let our users profit from this new development immediately. We
have the unique ability to deliver a complete office-software package via
Internet (this is just one of the advantages of having efficient,
concise program code).
How can I get free updates?
If you are a registered user of the current version of Papyrus, you qualify for
free updates.
Free updates apply within the current version level, and only for the licensed
operating system version. By current version level we normally mean half of the major number.
Currently this is Papyrus 12.5, so the next full version level will be 13
or 14 (depending on how superstitious we are). We can offer this free update service only within the current version level.
Registered users also qualify for reduced-price upgrades
when new version levels
are released, or when changing Papyrus from one operating system to another
(Windows to Mac or vice-versa). We keep our prices low, so that every user can
afford keeping Papyrus at the current version level.
Just as with the original purchase, updates are distributed via internet.
All updates and upgrades are complete new versions (you do not need to keep the old
version to install the new one).
How does it work in practice?
Very easily: We maintain a list of registered users for each version of Papyrus.
When a new update is ready, we send a notice via e-mail to each registered user.
In case you've forgotten, this service is free, there are no
service charges or hidden fees.
The e-mail notice includes a link to the current Papyrus update archive,
which you can download using your favorite browser.
The mail also details the (relatively simple) process needed to install the
new version.
By sending Papyrus updates (and upgrades) via internet, we don't have to
charge you for postage, handling, or the cost of a CD.
Note: If you change your e-mail address,
or redirect your account (during vacations) please let us know with a short e-mail.
We reserve the right to remove users from the update list when update mails repeatedly "bounce".
How can I add my name to the distribution list?
Quite simply: if you purchased Papyrus directly from us, there is an
option on the order form to register for free updates. You can also
register for e-mail updates later by sending us an e-mail, or by using the
form on our contact page. Please remember to provide your full name,
e-mail address, current Papyrus version number, and Papyrus serial number.
